Nairobi City Stars secured a convincing 3-0 win over Murang’a Seal at the Police Pavilion in South C, with Japanese forward Yuto Kusaba scoring his debut Premier League goal from a penalty kick for the City Stars’ third goal. The penalty was awarded after Samuel Kapen was brought down by Ally Yusuf in the latter stages of the second half, resulting in Yusuf’s dismissal and leaving Seal with 10 men.
The match remained goalless in the first half, but City Stars broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Mohammed Bajaber converted a penalty after Kapen was fouled by Samuel Semo.
Five minutes later, Dennis Oalo doubled City Stars’ lead after a clever setup by Kapen, who outpaced Seal’s goalkeeper and passed to Oalo for the goal.
Meanwhile, at the Mumias Sports Complex, Kakamega Homeboyz and Kariobangi Sharks played to a 1-1 draw. Sharks took the lead with Moses Shikanda’s goal in the 22nd minute, but experienced fullback Shafiq Batambuze equalized for Homeboyz later in the match.
