Amedome to Officiate Group A Encounter
Togolese referee Vincentia Enyonam Amedome has been appointed for the group stage match between Morocco and Kenya at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed.
CAF officially named him on their Twitter page before the closely watched match in Rabat.
CAA said "The Togolese referee Vincentia Enyonam Amedome is saddled with tonight's TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON arbitration match between Morocco and Kenya in Rabat.
Experienced Match Official
Amedome is considered one of the continent's top female referees, and has lots of experience for the game.
She has been a match umpire in various major football championships across Africa, such as the last editions of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, FIFA tournaments, and more. She is regarded as one of the most respected match officials in Africa.
It is an important match for both the teams.
The Group A fixture is expected to play a key role in shaping the standings as the tournament progresses.
Tournament hosts Morocco hope to make home ground count and bolster their goals of tagging it up in the knockout phase while Harambee Starlets will be hoping to do something good to improve their chances of advancing from the group stage.
Kenya return to the continent for their second stint of this year and will be looking to stamp their very presence on the tournament after scoring no goals in 13 matches in the previous edition.

For Nigeria's Super Falcons their race to capture the 11th Africa Cup of Nations Championship for women is alive outside the arena of the competition.
The 10-time continental champions were favourite favourites before the tournament and they will be again on the radar as African title contenders.
