Manchester City survived a nervy second-half to beat Tottenham 1-0 at the Etihad and take a step closer to the Premier League title.

The Blues will retain the trophy for the first time in their history with victory in each of their four remaining games after Phil Foden netted his first league goal to banish the memory of City's Champions League quarter-final defeat by Spurs on Wednesday night.

City started at an electric pace and Foden's goal came after impressive build-up play from Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguer.

Spurs were far from out of it, though, and Ederson was quick off his line to deny Mauricio Pochettino's side a leveller.

City travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday night for the Manchester Derby against Manchester United in their final game of the season against a member of the top six.
