The race to finish in the Premier League’s top four continues, somehow, to be the one that no-one wants to win.
Tottenham were the latest side to slip up on Saturday as they went down 1-0 to West Ham United to suffer their first defeat at their new stadium.
The Hammers’ Michail Antonio also became the first visiting player to net at the new ground in the victory, succeeding where players from Crystal Palace , Manchester City , Huddersfield and Brighton all failed by scoring midway through the second half.
The loss served as a blow to Spurs Mauricio Pochettino ahead of his side’s Champions League semi-final against Ajax this week, as well as the challenge to get back in the competition next season.
