Brian Eshihanda’s early goal secured all three points for Kakamega Homeboyz against Mathare United, while Posta Rangers and Bidco United played out a tense goalless draw in a day of contrasting fortunes.
Kakamega Homeboyz grabbed a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Mathare United, with Brian Eshihanda’s early strike proving the difference in a game full of near misses and defensive grit.
The visitors needed just five minutes to break the deadlock at Dandora Stadium. A precise delivery from Hillary Otieno found Eshihanda unmarked, and the forward calmly slotted in to notch his second goal of the season. The early advantage put Homeboyz in control, and they maintained the edge heading into halftime.
Homeboyz threatened to extend the lead, with Omengo and Ben Saul coming close. Mathare, however, responded with urgency. Boniface Onyango made a key goal-line clearance to deny an equalizer, and in the second half, they were inches away from leveling when Musa’s effort crashed against the crossbar.
Ibrahim Wanzala was also called into action late on, producing a crucial save to tip away a goal-bound shot from Ouru. Despite late pressure and attacking substitutions from both sides, the early goal stood, and Homeboyz walked away with maximum points.
In contrast, Posta Rangers and Bidco United shared the spoils in a tightly contested 0-0 draw earlier in the day.
Both teams struggled to find a breakthrough at the Police Sacco Stadium. The match was marked by strong midfield battles, cautious build-up play, and few clear-cut chances. The defenses on both ends remained solid, with goalkeepers rarely troubled.
Bidco looked more dangerous in the final third but couldn’t convert their possession into goals. Posta, despite being backed by a vocal home crowd, failed to unlock Bidco’s well-organized backline. The result leaves both sides with a point each, and plenty to reflect on heading into their next fixtures.
It was a day of mixed outcomes—Homeboyz capitalized on an early lead to secure victory, while Posta and Bidco settled for a draw in a match that lacked final-third execution.
