Fresh off their FKF Women Premier League victory in June, Kenya Police Bullets are gearing up for a momentous debut in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers. The draw, held on July 24th in Cairo, Egypt, placed them in Group A alongside regional contenders.
The CECAFA qualifiers serve as a crucial stepping stone, with the winner advancing to the CAF Women’s Champions League, Africa’s premier women’s club football tournament. The qualifiers will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from August 17th to September 4th, 2024.
While Kenya Police Bullets navigate Group A, a tough challenge awaits. They’ll face off against seasoned teams like C.B.E FC (Ethiopia) and Rayon Sports Women (Rwanda). Yei Joint FC (South Sudan) and Warrior Queens (Zanzibar) will also be vying for group supremacy.
This historic first for Kenya Police Bullets marks a significant stride for the Kenyan women’s football scene. The team carries the torch from Vihiga Queens, who represented the country in the initial editions of the qualifiers.
With their championship momentum and a nation’s hopes behind them, Kenya Police Bullets aim to make their debut a success and secure a coveted spot in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
