Gor Mahia booked their semi final berth in the Kagame Cup for 2026 with a hard fought 1-0 win over Garde Republicaine on Thursday night at Kigali Pele Stadium.

K'Ogalo held off the slimmers for the rest of the match, completing a job well done in defence to secure the three points required for promotion.
The win gave Gor Mahia a six-point lead to tie with Uganda's Vipers SC and Rwanda's APR FC.
Charles Akonnor's side, however, came out on top of the group by virtue of better goal difference.
Gor Mahia started their campaign with a stellar 5-0 win over APR, but lost their second game by a single goal to Vipers 1-0.
The defeat put their fate in doubt for the pivotal clash with Garde Republicaine.
Okoth's upfront shot helped to break the ice but Gor Mahia faced a spirited assault from the Djiboutian side all night.
Akonnor had demanded the “character and determination” of his players prior to the game and his side delivered when it was all on the line.
Gor Mahia will now play off either Rayon Sports Rwanda or Singida Big Stars of Tanzania in the semi-finals.
It was a Group C duel between Rayon Sports and Al Hilal SC as neither club had more points than the other heading in to the final round of matches.
K'Ogalo will move to the knockout stage having collected two wins and two clean sheets in their two victories.
