PSV Eindhoven secured the Eredivisie title in emphatic fashion with a resounding 4-2 victory over Sparta Rotterdam. Despite needing only a point to seal the championship, PSV found themselves trailing early on when an error from Malik Tillman allowed Said Bakari to set up Metinho for Sparta’s opener in the 8th minute.
However, PSV swiftly responded, equalizing through a Bakari own goal before Luuk de Jong orchestrated Johan Bakayoko’s goal to give them a 2-1 lead. Yet, Sparta’s resilience saw them draw level once again as Olivier Boscagli inadvertently headed into his own net, making it 2-2.
Boscagli redeemed himself in the 67th minute, putting PSV ahead with a clinical finish. Jordan Teze then ignited celebrations among the home crowd by extending the lead to 4-2.
With this victory, PSV clinched their 25th Eredivisie title with two games still remaining in the season. The triumph is a testament to the hard work and dedication of manager Peter Bosz and his players, affirming their status as deserving champions.
