Originally slated to join the Brazil squad for upcoming friendlies against England and Spain, Casemiro faces uncertainty after a new injury was disclosed by manager Dorival Jr. just hours before the Man United vs. Liverpool match.
Explaining the situation, Dorival Jr. revealed, “From a preliminary list of 50 names by the Brazilian national team’s technical committee, 13 players were already sidelined due to club-related injuries.” Among them is Alisson, sidelined with a severe hamstring injury.
Dorival Jr. further stated, “Unfortunately, we also lost Casemiro. Therefore, Pepe, from Porto, a forward turned midfielder, has been called up.”
Although Man United is yet to confirm the injury, indications suggest Casemiro might miss the FA Cup quarter-final. Despite a challenging season for the 32-year-old and his teammates, Erik ten Hag still views him as a pivotal figure in midfield.
