@ Official SS Lazio

The capital club entered the Friday match following defeats to rivals Juventus and Roma. Fans unfurled a banner before the game, declaring “You are not worthy of wearing our shirt.”

Despite missing several key players, including Ciro Immobile and Matteo Guendouzi, newly appointed coach Igor Tudor’s team demonstrated resilience. Within 14 minutes against a team that hadn’t won since December, they surged to a 2-0 lead. Felipe Anderson initiated the scoring with a brilliant solo effort after only six minutes, followed by Matias Vecino doubling Lazio’s advantage eight minutes later.

Two minutes after Loum Tchaouna’s powerful header brought hope for the visitors, Anderson swiftly reinstated Lazio’s two-goal lead, neatly finishing off an intricate passing sequence ten minutes before halftime.

The rout was sealed three minutes from the final whistle, as Danish winger Gustav Isaksen, who had just stepped onto the pitch as a substitute, found the net.

Although the victory failed to placate the disgruntled home supporters, it propels Lazio a point ahead of Napoli and within one point of Atalanta, who both possess games yet to play.

For Salernitana, the outcome marked yet another somber evening in a dismal season. Occupying the league’s basement with a mere 15 points out of a potential 96, relegation appears nearly inevitable for them.
