Liverpool edge closer to the Premier League title with a dramatic 1-0 win at Leicester, thanks to a thunderous late strike from Trent Alexander-Arnold that also confirms the Foxes’ relegation.

Liverpool needed something special to break down a stubborn Leicester side, and it came in the 76th minute from returning hero Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose powerful left-footed strike sealed a 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium and nudged the Reds ever closer to the Premier League title.

Despite dominating possession and peppering the Leicester goal, Liverpool couldn’t find a way through for much of the match. Mohamed Salah struck both posts in the first half, while Gakpo, Jota, and Diaz all went close as the visitors racked up an xG of 2.62.

Leicester, needing a miracle to avoid relegation, offered little going forward. Their story of toothless attack that’s now gone nine straight home games without a goal. They thought they’d broken the drought when Conor Coady headed home after a Daka cross, but it was swiftly ruled out for a foul on Alisson.

The moment finally arrived in the 76th minute: a chaotic goalmouth scramble ended with Alexander-Arnold smashing a deflected effort into the corner, ripping his shirt off in front of the away fans as Liverpool took a crucial step toward their 20th top-flight title.

The result confirms Leicester City’s relegation to the Championship and leaves Liverpool needing just one more win — or for Arsenal to drop points — to mathematically clinch the Premier League crown.

Arne Slot’s side will now turn their attention to next Sunday’s clash with Tottenham at Anfield, where the title party could officially begin.
