Simba SC and CS Constantine Seal CAF Confederation Cup Final Berths

Simba SC held Stellenbosch FC to a tense goalless draw in Durban to book their place in the CAF Confederation Cup final on aggregate, while CS Constantine edged RS Berkane 1-0 in Algeria thanks to an early second-half header from Abdennour Belhocini.

The CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals delivered tense, hard-fought encounters on Sunday as Simba SC and CS Constantine clinched their spots in the final.

At Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, Tanzanian giants Simba SC secured their place in the final after playing out a cagey 0-0 draw with Stellenbosch FC, enough to advance 1-0 on aggregate following their slender first-leg victory in Dar es Salaam.

It was a nervy affair with neither side managing to find a breakthrough over the 90 minutes. Stellenbosch, backed by a passionate home crowd, struggled to break down Simba’s disciplined defense. The visitors, well aware of what was at stake, managed the game professionally, limiting opportunities and seeing out the result to confirm their ticket to the final.

Meanwhile in Algeria, CS Constantine edged Moroccan side RS Berkane 1-0 in a tight contest at the Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui. The decisive moment arrived early in the second half when Abdennour Belhocini rose highest to nod home from close range after a well-delivered corner by Brahim Dib in the 47th minute.

Despite Berkane’s attempts to claw their way back into the tie, Constantine’s defense stood firm to see out the narrow lead, securing a memorable home victory and a place in the CAF Confederation Cup final.

What It Means:
The results mean Simba SC and CS Constantine will now face off for the CAF Confederation Cup title in what promises to be a thrilling showdown between Tanzanian and Algerian powerhouses.
