Simone Inzaghi Heads to Saudi Arabia as Inter Seek New Boss

Inter Milan confirmed the departure of head coach Simone Inzaghi, who accepted a managerial offer from Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal, ending a successful four-year run with the Italian giants.

Inter Milan officially confirmed that Simone Inzaghi had departed the club after agreeing to take over at Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Hilal. The Italian manager concluded his four-year spell at San Siro to embark on a new chapter in the Middle East.

The announcement came just days after Inter suffered a crushing 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final a disappointing result that capped off an otherwise strong season for the Nerazzurri.

Since joining the club in 2021, Inzaghi had overseen a highly successful period, winning two Coppa Italia titles, two Supercoppa Italiana trophies, and reaching the Champions League final in 2023. His achievements firmly placed him among the top Italian coaches of his generation.

Inter extended their gratitude to Inzaghi for his contributions, acknowledging his role in restoring the club’s domestic and European credentials. “Simone’s work left a lasting impact on this club, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors,” the club stated.

Inzaghi’s move to Al-Hilal saw him become the latest high-profile name to join the ambitious Saudi Pro League, which continued its aggressive recruitment drive to attract elite football talent and management from Europe.

Meanwhile, Inter had already begun the search for a new manager. Reports from Italy indicated that Cesc Fabregas, currently in charge of Como FC, was among the leading candidates. Other names on Inter’s radar reportedly included Cristian Chivu of Parma and Genoa’s Patrick Vieira.

Inter fans now eagerly awaited news of the next chapter for their club as the Nerazzurri aimed to build on Inzaghi’s work and continue competing at the highest level both domestically and in Europe.
