Kibera Soccer Women and Vihiga Queens booked their spots in the FKF Women’s Cup final after hard-fought semi-final victories on Sunday. Both teams showcased determination and flair, setting up what promises to be a thrilling championship showdown.
The stage is set for a blockbuster finale in the 2025 FKF Women’s Cup as Kibera Soccer Women and Vihiga Queens secured their places in the final with impressive semi-final wins over Kenya Police Bullets and Bungoma Queens, respectively.
Kibera Soccer Women delivered a commanding 2–0 win over the seasoned Kenya Police Bullets at Dandora Stadium. Backed by CFK Africa and a vibrant local fanbase, Kibera exhibited sharp tactics, energy, and unity.
After a goalless first half, Kibera turned on the heat in the second period. The breakthrough came in the 54th minute through Robii, whose well-placed finish lifted the crowd and the squad’s momentum. In added time, Fehfeh was brought down in the box and confidently converted the penalty, cementing the victory.
Coach substitutions proved pivotal, with Lisa replacing Robii and Stella and Pauline coming in for Lily and Arusi moves that kept the team fresh and focused till the final whistle.
Over at Mumias Complex, Vihiga Queens edged out Bungoma Queens 2–1 in a dramatic semi-final clash that saw momentum swing throughout the match.
Vihiga struck first through Diana Cherono Sigei in the 11th minute, but Bungoma equalized soon after, keeping the game wide open. With the tie level deep into the second half, Noel Amutata stepped up in the 84th minute to score the winner sending Vihiga to the final and their fans into celebration.
The team dedicated the win to their goalkeeper Mercy Akoth, who missed the match due to a red card in the previous game. “She gave everything for the team,” said a club representative. The emotional victory underlines the unity and resilience within the Vihiga camp.
