Borussia Dortmund delivered a statement performance on home turf, hammering VfL Wolfsburg 4-0 with Karim Adeyemi bagging a brilliant second-half brace.

DORTMUND, Germany — Borussia Dortmund made their intentions clear with a commanding 4-0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg in front of a buzzing Signal Iduna Park crowd on Sunday evening. It was a match marked by early dominance, clinical finishing, and the electric presence of Karim Adeyemi, who struck twice in the second half to seal the win.

The home side wasted no time stamping their authority on the game. Just three minutes in, new signing Serhou Guirassy opened the scoring with a composed right-footed finish into the bottom right corner after a clever assist from Julian Brandt. It was the perfect start for Dortmund, whose fans erupted in celebration, sensing a special night ahead.

Despite chances at both ends, the first half ended with Dortmund holding a slender 1-0 lead. But it was in the second half where Edin Terzić’s men truly came alive.

Guirassy doubled his tally in the 59th minute, again showing his predatory instincts by slotting home a Pascal Groß assist. The Wolfsburg defense struggled to cope with Dortmund’s fluid movement and quick passing, and their troubles deepened as Karim Adeyemi entered the spotlight.

In the 69th minute, Adeyemi made it 3-0 with a stunning left-footed strike to the top right corner, latching onto a precise pass from Ramy Bensebaini. The 23-year-old German international wasn’t done yet. Just four minutes later, he bagged his second of the night, this time a left-footed shot from the left side of the box to the center of the goal, following a neat assist from the industrious Julian Brandt.

As the final whistle blew after three minutes of added time, the scoreboard read 4-0, a result that delighted the Yellow Wall and sent a warning to the rest of the Bundesliga.

“It was a complete performance,” said head coach Edin Terzić post-match. “The boys were hungry, disciplined, and ruthless in front of goal. This is the level we need to maintain.”

With this emphatic win, Dortmund solidifies their place in the top tier of the table and sends a timely reminder of their title ambitions. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, will head back to the drawing board after a sobering evening in Dortmund.
