Ousmane Dembele’s fourth-minute finish proved decisive as PSG earned a slender 1-0 victory over Arsenal in an intense Champions League semi-final first leg at the Emirates. The Gunners fought hard, saw a goal chalked off by VAR, and forced multiple saves from Donnarumma but it’s Luis Enrique’s side who take the advantage to Paris.

It was a night of high stakes, tension, and fine margins at the Emirates Stadium as Paris Saint-Germain claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final. In a contest loaded with chances, drama, and a touch of controversy, it was Ousmane Dembélé’s composed early finish that proved the difference.

PSG couldn’t have asked for a better start. Barely four minutes into the match, Dembele picked up the ball in midfield and drove purposefully through the heart of Arsenal’s defence. The Frenchman laid it wide to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose cutback found Dembele arriving in the box. His first-time strike clipped the inside of the post and nestled into the net, giving PSG a dream lead.

Despite the early setback, Arsenal responded well. They grew into the match with Martin Odegaard pulling strings in midfield and Bukayo Saka constantly probing down the right. The home side created a string of chances, but Gianluigi Donnarumma was in inspired form, denying Martinelli, Trossard, and Saka at key moments.

The Emirates crowd thought they had their equaliser just after the break when Mikel Merino nodded in Declan Rice’s pinpoint free-kick. But, in a cruel twist, VAR ruled it out for an exceedingly tight offside call. It was a decision that sucked the air out of the stadium and left Arsenal chasing the game.

PSG had their moments too. Ramos rattled the crossbar after breaking the offside trap, and both Neves and Barcola missed clear opportunities to double the lead. The French champions’ failure to convert those chances keeps the tie finely balanced heading into the second leg.

For Mikel Arteta’s side, it was a frustrating night of near-misses and fine margins, but the tie is far from over. With the return leg at the Parc des Princes to come next Wednesday, and a Premier League fixture against Bournemouth in between, the Gunners will need to regroup and find their clinical edge.

As for Luis Enrique’s PSG, it’s a precious first-ever win against Arsenal in European competition, and though the margin is narrow, it could prove vital. The French side’s fast start paid off, and while they failed to kill the tie off, they’ll be confident on home soil.

Final Whistle Verdict:
A thrilling semi-final clash decided by a single moment of early brilliance from Ousmane Dembele. Arsenal will feel aggrieved by the disallowed goal and their missed chances but remain very much alive in the tie. Everything to play for in Paris.

Second Leg Awaited:
The stage is set for a blockbuster return in Paris. Can Arsenal turn it around, or will PSG book their place in the final? Either way, it promises to be another enthralling European night.
