Fortune Sacco SC lit up Round 35 of the National Super League with a resounding 5-1 victory over Mombasa Elite, fueled by a sensational four-goal haul from in-form striker Evans Mugane.
Playing at home, Fortune Sacco initially went behind just four minutes into the game when Omar A. gave Mombasa Elite an early lead. But the response was swift by the 7th minute, Mugane had found the equalizer, and the comeback was on.
In the 24th minute, the roles reversed as Mugane turned provider, setting up Elvis Barasa to fire Sacco into a 2-1 halftime lead. The second half turned into the Mugane show. Within just two minutes of the restart, he bagged his second of the day his 17th goal of the season after a clever assist from Barasa.
He completed his hat-trick in the 53rd minute, this time thanks to a delightful through ball from Afande Matete, and added a fourth goal in the 87th, assisted by Dennoh, sealing an emphatic win for the home side.
With this win, Sacco not only claimed three vital points but also sent a strong message to the rest of the league that they are not to be taken lightly as the season nears its END.
