Gor Mahia cruised to a 2-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at Dandora Stadium, securing their spot in the FKF Cup semi-finals with goals from Patrick Ekandjoum and Alpha Onyango.

Gor Mahia produced a commanding performance to claim a 2-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks in the FKF Cup quarter-finals, in a match played on Wednesday afternoon at Dandora Stadium.

The game kicked off with both sides looking to settle into their rhythm, but it was Gor Mahia who drew first blood in the 16th minute through Patrick Ekandjoum. The goal gave K’Ogalo a much-needed early advantage, allowing them to dictate the tempo of the match.

Despite a few changes to the starting lineup, with key players rested ahead of a busy schedule, Gor Mahia remained composed and in control for most of the first half. The first 45 minutes ended with Gor holding onto a 1-0 lead, their backline untroubled by the Sharks’ attempts to break through.

The second half began with three changes for Gor Mahia as Austin, Stanley, and Bendeke were brought in to reinforce the midfield and attack. The substitutions helped maintain balance, and the team’s defensive organization ensured that Kariobangi Sharks remained largely toothless in attack.

In the 53rd minute, Alpha Onyango doubled the lead with a brilliant finish, sealing the result and sending the traveling fans into celebration. A late flurry of substitutions and a few yellow cards didn’t change the outcome as Gor Mahia comfortably saw out the remaining minutes.

The final whistle confirmed a 2-0 victory for the record Kenyan champions, with goals from Ekandjoum and Alpha Onyango proving decisive. The result sees Gor Mahia book a place in the FKF Cup semi-finals, where they’ll continue their quest.
