The Kenya National team, Harambee Stars, along with the U20 Rising Stars, arrived safely in Lilongwe, Malawi, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10 am, ahead of the scheduled four-nation tournament at the Bingu National Stadium. The tournament will feature Kenya competing against hosts Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The Rising Stars will kick off the tournament by facing Zimbabwe on Friday, March 22, 2024. Subsequently, they will play against hosts Malawi on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Harambee Stars, on the other hand, will engage hosts Malawi in the semifinals on Saturday, March 24, 2024, at the Bingu National Stadium. The third-place playoff and finals are set for Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the same venue.
Coach Engin Firat will utilize the tournament to prepare the team for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June, as well as to explore various options within the limited international window.
The Rising Stars will have the opportunity to demonstrate their potential in the tournament, serving as a talent pool for the senior teams, as they are slated to participate in more international matches throughout the year.
