Interim Harambee Starlets head coach Godfrey Oduor has named a 43-player provisional squad ahead of Kenya’s 2028 CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers against Seychelles.
Kenya will face Seychelles in a two-legged tie at Nyayo National Stadium, with the opening match scheduled for October 8 before the return fixture on October 12, 2026.
Both matches are set to kick off at 3pm.
The squad brings together experienced internationals, returning players and several new faces as Oduor begins preparations for his latest spell in charge of the national team.
Among the returning players are Simba Queens midfielder Corazone Aquino, Gor Mahia Queens goalkeeper Monica Odato, Kibera Soccer Women defender Janet Mumo and Mathare United Women defender Wincaate Kaari.
Haymanaspor midfielder Lavine Achola is also back in the national team set-up.
Kenya Police Bullets forward Faith Mboya, Wacker Innsbruck attacker Sylvia Makungu and Madira Soccer Assassins forward Charity Midewa have also earned recalls.
Five players have received their first senior Harambee Starlets call-ups.
They are defender Hellen Ochieng, defender Abigael Njeru, midfielder Mercyline Wafula, midfielder Josephine Warenga and forward Magneta Ocharo.
Oduor has selected five goalkeepers, including Kenya Police Bullets' Annedy Kundu, Romania-based Lilian Awuor, Vivian Shiyonzo of Kibera Soccer Women, Trinity Starlets' Juliet Adhiambo and Monica Odato of Gor Mahia Queens.
The defensive options include Ruth Ingosi, Elizabeth Ochaka, Norah Ann, Leah Andiema, Vivian Nasaka, Enez Mango, Mary Nthambi, Janet Mumo, Wincaate Kaari, Elizabeth Muteshi, Hellen Ochieng, Lavine Achola, Euphrasier Shilwatso and Abigael Njeru.
In midfield, Kenya can call upon Lorna Nyarinda, Fasila Adhiambo, Mercy Airo, Martha Amunyolete, Elizabeth Mideva, Mwanalima Adam, Lavender Akinyi, Corazone Aquino, Mercyline Wafula, Marion Serenge and Josephine Warenga.
The attacking department includes Tereza Engesha, Faith Mboya, Violet Nanjala, Eglay Mukhwana, Shaline Nambengele, Airin Madalina, Valerie Nekesa, Sylvia Makungu, Jentrix Shikangwa, Magneta Ocharo, Charity Midewa, Shirleen Opisa and Catherine Khaemba.
The players were expected to report to camp on October 2 as Kenya begins preparations for the Seychelles double-header.
The qualifiers represent the start of Kenya’s bid to progress through the African qualification pathway for the women’s football tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games.
