Amid torrential rain and thunder in Turin, Inter Milan delivered a composed 2-0 win over Torino to move level on points with Serie A leaders Napoli, thanks to goals from Nicola Zalewski and Kristjan Asllani.
In a match defined as much by the weather as the football, Inter Milan showed title winning grit with a 2-0 victory over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and pitch delays turned the fixture into a test of resilience, but Simone Inzaghi’s side proved up to the challenge.
Nicola Zalewski opened the scoring with a stunning solo effort in the first half, curling a shot into the bottom corner after a clever turn on the edge of the box. The game paused briefly due to a thunderstorm, but resumed with both sides fighting hard under difficult conditions.
Torino pushed back before halftime and came inches from equalizing when Che Adams’ bullet header was denied by a miraculous one-handed save from Inter keeper Josep Martínez.
After the break, Mehdi Taremi earned a penalty after being fouled by Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic Savic. Kristjan Asllani coolly converted from the spot to double Inter’s lead. Despite late pressure and a few close chances for the hosts, Inter remained composed and could have added a third on multiple occasions.
With the win, Inter temporarily draw level with Napoli at the top of the table, keeping their Scudetto hopes alive with three games remaining. For Torino, the defeat ends their nine-match unbeaten home streak, leaving little more than pride to play for in the season’s final weeks.
