Kenya Police FC have officially announced the mutual departure of head coach Etienne Ndayiragije, bringing an end to his successful tenure that saw the club capture its first-ever league trophy.

Kenya Police FC have confirmed that they have mutually parted ways with head coach Etienne Ndayiragije, effective 29th October 2025, marking the conclusion of a memorable chapter in the club’s modern history.

In a statement shared on the club’s official platforms, the management hailed Ndayiragije’s contribution, noting that he “diligently steered the Club to bag its maiden league trophy.” The club emphasized that the decision came after the coach’s personal request to pursue new challenges and further his coaching career beyond Kenya.

“Owing to his desire to individually advance his career and experience, Mr. Ettiene requested the Club allow him to pursue greener pastures and newer challenges,” read part of the club statement.

The board and executive committee expressed gratitude for his professionalism and impact, acknowledging his special place in the club’s history.

“The Club acceded to this request. Mr. Ettiene has a special place in Kenya Police FC history. The Club’s Board of Directors and the Executive take this opportunity to wish him the best of luck even as he pursues bigger challenges within newer coaching frontiers,” the statement concluded.

Ndayiragije, a Burundian tactician, previously coached the Burundi and Tanzania national teams, as well as Vital’O FC (Burundi), Azam FC (Tanzania), and Bugesera FC (Rwanda). He joined Kenya Police FC earlier in 2025, replacing Salim Babu, and guided the law enforcers to an impressive league campaign that ended with silverware.

His departure opens the door for a new technical direction as the club looks to build on the foundations laid during his successful spell.
