TECNO Mobile Signs On as Official Sponsor for 2025 & 2027 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a major sponsorship deal with Chinese tech brand TECNO Mobile for the upcoming 2025 and 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, reinforcing the growing synergy between football and technology on the continent.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled Chinese technology giant TECNO Mobile as the exclusive smartphone sponsor for the next two editions of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments in 2025 and 2027.

The partnership was announced on Wednesday during a media briefing in Nairobi, led by CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba and TECNO Vice President Shiming Jiang.

As part of the multi-year agreement, TECNO will serve as the exclusive smartphone partner for the highly anticipated competitions with Morocco set to host the 2025 tournament from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. The 2027 edition will then head to East Africa, marking a historic joint-hosting effort by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

This deal continues TECNO’s strong presence in African football, following its successful involvement as a key sponsor during the record-breaking 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, which captivated millions of fans across the continent and beyond.

We are grateful to CAF and President Dr. Patrice Motsepe for the opportunity to be part of this football journey. Through this partnership, we aim to continue inspiring African youth, promoting innovation, and contributing to the growth of the sport on the continent,” said TECNO Vice President Shiming Jiang.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed welcomed the announcement, highlighting the increasingly important role of private sector partnerships in the development of African football.

This collaboration with TECNO underscores how technology and sports can work hand-in-hand to transform lives. I urge more brands to invest not just in African football but in the huge potential within Kenyan football as we gear up for hosting duties in 2027,” said Mohammed.

He also took a moment to thank CAF leadership and the Kenyan government for their steadfast commitment to improving sports infrastructure in the country ahead of major tournaments like CHAN 2024 and AFCON 2027.

CAF Secretary General Mosengo-Omba expressed optimism about the impact of the renewed partnership.

Together with TECNO, we are determined to take African football to new heights, delivering world-class experiences for fans, empowering local communities, and putting African football firmly on the global stage,” he said.

With this partnership secured, both CAF and TECNO have signaled their intent to not only celebrate the spirit of African football but also to foster opportunities for growth, innovation, and youth empowerment across the continent.
