AFC Leopards 1-2 Mount Kenya United: Still another defeat under new coarch Casa Mbungo

A 4-1 defeat to Bandari last Sunday saw Serbian coach Marko Vasiljevic resign from his role as the head of the technical bench, but despite the club bringing in Casa Mbungo, the Rwandan inherited the same problems.

Mount Kenya has pulled some eye-catching performances in the last two games having beaten Mathare United by the same margin last weekend. AFC Leopards will have themselves to blame for the latest defeat.

Mount Kenya punished Ingwe when they took the lead after just 10 minutes from the start, but Salim Abdallah restored parity a few minutes later to reset the scoreboard.

Leopards blew away several chances thereafter. They were lively in the midfield but the final delivery let them down. Musa Saad had a clear chance, shot over the bar moments after Wayi Yeka saw another opportunity go begging.

Odeny was left with only the keeper to beat but he ran out of ideas with his weak shot being blocked. Abdallah, however, made amends when he headed Kaheza’s cross.

Substitute Vincent Oburu, who had come on in place of Eugene Mukanguladirected a feeble first shot at goal. Yeka was equally guilty of wasted chances when he agonizingly directed his shot way off the target even after he was set through by Kaheza.

Mount Kenya left it late with a second goal to hand Ingwe a fifth defeat of the season. Ingwe are just a place above relegation with only 10 points from 11 games.
