AFC Leopards 3-1 Posta Rangers: Ingwe cruise to another crucial win | FKF Premier League

AFC Leopards defeated Posta Rangers 3-1 in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played on Thursday.

Ingwe were keen on completing a double against the Mailmen following their 2-0 win in the reverse fixture. However, they had to be cautious against the John Kamau-led side that defeated Mount Kenya United 6-2 last Sunday.

The hosts started the game on a high note, but against the run of play, it was the visitors who took the lead after just five minutes. A defensive lapse allowed the Mailmen into the danger zone, and they fully capitalised on it. The unmarked Felix Oliech did well to score the opener after the ball was cleverly played to him.

A series of attacks by the home team followed, but the Mailmen managed to cleared all the dangerous balls played into the box. The determined Ingwecontinued to search for a leveler and it came in the ninth minute courtesy of Brian Marita, who pounced on a rebound.

Rangers were pinned in their area for most of the rest of the half, with Whyvonne Isuza, debutant Paul Were, and Brian Marita impressing.

However, it was Robinson Kamura who gave his side a deserved lead in the 40th minute, after he Mailmen committed a foul in a dangerous area and the defender  managed to beat the goalkeeper with his set-piece.

The in-form Isuza completed the comeback in the 47th minute, tapping in a perfectly placed cross by Were to score his fourth goal for the season. News From Goal Kenya
