Both teams were unbeaten heading into the match after eight rounds of matches played and they were also tied at 18 points with Gor ahead with goal difference.

Kakamega Homeboyz came from a goal down to defeat Gor Mahia 2-1 in an FKF Premier League game staged at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Saturday.

Peter Lwasa had put the visitors ahead three minutes after the whistle before Homeboyz rallied from behind to overturn the deficit.

George Oduor drew the hosts level from the spot in the 20th minute following an infringement on Yema Mwana in the box, before Stephen Opuku pounced on another glaring opportunity in the 55th minute to put the outcome beyond doubt.

Meanwhile, in Nakuru, Ulinzi Stars claimed maximum points after defeating visitors Vihiga Bullets 2-0.

Stars took a lead in the fifth minute through Oscar Wamalwa. The Soldiers dominated the proceedings, pushing forward with every opportunity they got.

When it seemed they will go to the break with a slim advantage, former AFC Leopards midfielder Bernard Ongoma then struck in the 40th minute.

After an impressive goalless draw last weekend with Tusker FC, Sofapaka had to come from a goal down to settle for a 1-1 draw with Posta Rangers at Wundanyi Stadium.
