In a nail-biting FKF Premier League promotion playoff match held on July 14th, 2024 at Dandora Stadium, Sofapaka secured their top-tier league status with a decisive 2-0 aggregate victory over Naivas FC.

Carrying a narrow 1-0 lead thanks to a late goal by Jacob Onyango in the first leg, Sofapaka faced a determined Naivas side eager to cause an upset. Naivas came out strong, creating early chances that hinted at their ambition to overturn the deficit.

However, just before halftime, the tide turned. A well-orchestrated play by Sofapaka saw Darius Msagha set up Andre Kalama for a crucial goal in the 43rd minute.

This strike not only gave Sofapaka the lead for the remainder of the first half but ultimately proved to be the match-winner.
