KCB moved top of the Kenya Premier League table after beating Western Stima 2-0 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
The win, coupled with Tusker FC’s failure to win away in Mombasa saw the Bankers move to 57 points, two ahead of the Brewers who lost 2-1 against Bandari.
The Bankers scored on each side of the break for the win, which keeps them firmly in the hunt for the titles.
At the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa, Tusker, who led the table going into today’s matches got the going tough, despite taking the lead.
Rodgers Aloro gave Robert Matano’s side the lead in the 39th minute, but second-half goals from Hassan Abdallah and John Mwita turned the game on its head, giving the hosts maximum points.
Elsewhere, defending champions Gor Mahia narrowly beat Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 in Thika.
Sydney Ochieng scored the only goal of the game, even though K’Ogalo had goalkeeper Samuell Njau to thank after he saved two penalties.
