A Paul Pogba error allowed Stuart Armstrong to put the Saints ahead, but Anthony Martial assisted Marcus Rashford before scoring himself to hand United a 2-1 lead at half-time.

However, a 96th-minute equaliser from Michael Obafemi secured the Saints a late point to keep United fifth in the table.
