Goals from Cliff Nyakeya and Klinsmann Omulanga ensured the Slum Boys picked up all the points against an Ingwe side which haven’t tasted defeat in nine games.

Robinson Kamura stopped Francis Omondi of the ninth minute after the midfielder rather easily made his way into AFC Leopards’ box. Kamura’s huge presence deterred Omondi from taking a meaningful shot on goal and lost the ball for the hoststo clear their area quickly.

Omulanga and Clifford Alwanga’s swift play in the 14th-minute caught the AFC Leopards defenders unaware, but Omulanga’s shot was not precise enough as the ball evaded everyone in the box and went out for a goal kick.

Nyakeya thenscored his 12th goal of the season in the 28th minute with a low finish after he was fed by James Kinyanjui.

After another 10 minutes, Mathare United doubled their lead throughOmulanga,  as Jairus Adira could not deal with Kinyanjui’s crossed ball into the area. Adira spilled the ball to allow Omulanga to tap in for the second goal.

Whyvonne Isuza, who has been an important figure for AFC Leopards this season, failed to beat Allan Owiny in Mathare United’s goal in the 50th minute. Brian Marita did well to place the ball on Isuza’s path but the midfielder could not find a way past the goalkeeper.

Owiny again denied AFC Leopards from halving the deficit with a finger-tip save and parried the ball away after David Ochieng rose high to head the ball goalwards in the 76th minute.
