Junior Starlets Set Sights on Cameroon in High-Stakes World Cup Qualifier at Nyayo

Kenya’s Junior Starlets are set to battle Cameroon this Sunday at Nyayo Stadium in a crucial FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier. With a ticket to Morocco 2025 up for grabs, the young Kenyan stars are hoping to build on their dominant 5-0 aggregate win over Uganda and make history once again.

Kenya’s Junior Starlets are just two matches away from making history again, as they prepare to face Cameroon in the first leg of the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers this Sunday, April 20, at Nyayo Stadium. Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM EAT, with the nation’s hopes riding high on this talented squad.

The Starlets earned their spot in this decisive clash after dismantling Uganda 5-0 on aggregate, including a dominant 3-0 win in the return leg last weekend. Patience Asiko opened the scoring early, before Brenda Achieng dazzled the crowd with a second-half brace, sealing the Junior Cranes’ fate.

Now, the young Kenyan queens must overcome a tougher test—Cameroon, who are fresh off a commanding 6-2 aggregate win over Ethiopia. With a ticket to the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco on the line, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Kenya are chasing their second World Cup appearance, having featured in last year’s tournament in the Dominican Republic. Coach and players alike know the weight of the moment, as only four teams from Africa will qualify, joining hosts Morocco in the global showpiece.

Tickets are already on sale, with fans encouraged to secure theirs early via Tikiti.co.ke or by dialing 51955#. Prices are set at Ksh 100 (Regular), Ksh 2,000 (VIP), and Ksh 5,000 (VVIP). Please note—no tickets will be sold at the stadium on match day, and all sales will close by Saturday, April 19.

For those unable to attend in person, live coverage will be available on the Harambee Starlets and Football Kenya Federation Facebook pages, bringing the action to fans across Kenya and beyond.

This is more than just a match—it's a chance for the Junior Starlets to make history and fly Kenya’s flag high on the world stage once again.
