Joseph Okumu's early error in the third minute gave Zimbabwe an initial lead. Nonetheless, just before halftime, Captain Michael Olunga capitalized on Ayub Timbe's precise pass to equalize.

Olunga then secured a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute. With four minutes left, he capitalized on Timbe's rebound to seal a 3-1 victory.
