Ulinzi Stars forward Paul Okoth has been named the Kenya Premier League Player of the Month for November after a string of standout displays that underlined his growing importance in the Soldiers’ attack.

The striker, who joined Ulinzi Stars from National Super League leaders Migori Youth during the off season transfer window, has wasted little time settling into life in the top flight. His sharp movement, eye for goal and calmness in front of goal have quickly made him a key figure in the team’s attacking setup.

November proved to be a highly productive month for Okoth, as he was directly involved in four goals for Ulinzi Stars. His contributions came at crucial moments and often made the difference in tight contests.

He opened his scoring account with a decisive long range strike in a hard fought 1-0 victory over APS Bomet. In a match short on clear chances, Okoth’s ability to seize the moment proved vital.

The striker then delivered his most eye catching performance in the 3-1 win against Sofapaka, where he scored twice and also provided an assist. The display highlighted his all round attacking qualities and his ability to influence games both as a scorer and a creator.

Beyond goals and assists, Okoth’s work rate and attacking intent stood out throughout the month. He averaged an impressive number of shot attempts per match, constantly troubling opposition goalkeepers, stretching defences and creating space for his teammates.

His consistency and overall influence earned him a place in the KPL Team of the Week and ultimately saw him walk away with the November Player of the Month award.

Competition for the accolade was stiff, with Okoth edging out Shabana FC goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng, Muranga SEAL defender Paul Ngugi and APS Bomet forward Hansel Ochieng. While all the nominees enjoyed strong months, Okoth’s direct impact in decisive matches gave him the edge.

Speaking on the initiative, league sponsor Public Relations and Advertising Manager Willis Ojwang said the Player and Coach of the Month awards are aimed at raising standards across the league.

Ojwang noted that the awards are designed to boost productivity and competitiveness, adding that although the initiative is still in its early stages, there are plans to grow and improve it further as a way of motivating teams, coaches and players.

As part of his reward, Okoth received a customized trophy from the league sponsors alongside a cash prize of KES 50,000. Despite Ulinzi Stars suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to KCB in their most recent match, the striker was once again on the scoresheet, extending his impressive run of form.
