Zamalek SC have officially sealed their place in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after completing a dominant double victory over Somali champions Dekedaha.

Playing the second leg at Cairo’s Al Salam Stadium on Friday, the White Knights claimed a 1–0 win to complete a 7–0 aggregate triumph, following their emphatic 6–0 victory in the first leg.

The decisive moment came in the 38th minute when the referee awarded a penalty to Zamalek, which Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri calmly converted two minutes later. Although Mohamed El Sayed missed a second penalty in the 64th minute, the Egyptian giants comfortably advanced to the next round.

Meanwhile in Tanzania, Azam FC also booked their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup group stage appearance with a stunning 7–0 win over Zanzibar’s KMKM, completing a 9–0 aggregate demolition.

Goals from Iddy Nado (brace), Jephte Kitambala (brace), Abdul Sopu (brace), and Pascal Msindo ensured a historic night at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam. Under the guidance of experienced Congolese coach Florent Ibenge, the ice-cream makers now look poised to make a strong impression in the continental competition.

Both Zamalek and Azam will learn their group-stage opponents when the official draw is conducted in Johannesburg, South Africa, on November 3.
