Juventus finally broke their Champions League drought with a dramatic 3–2 comeback victory over Bodo/Glimt, sealed in stoppage time by Jonathan David after a chaotic, breathless night at the Aspmyra Stadion.

On a freezing night in northern Norway, Juventus dug deep, suffered, stumbled, and then emerged with a priceless Champions League win — their first of the 2025/26 campaign courtesy of a late, late Jonathan David tap-in that silenced the Aspmyra Stadion and sent the travelling fans into delirium.

This was the kind of European match that drains energy, frays nerves, and ultimately defines group-stage campaigns.

Bodo/Glimt, fearless and riding the energy of their home crowd, started like a team determined to punch above their weight. They attacked with purpose, pressed aggressively, and after a flurry of half-chances, cracked Juventus open in the 27th minute. A corner flicked on by Kasper Høgh dropped perfectly for Ole Blomberg, who smashed home from close range despite Perin’s desperate touch. Wild scenes. deserved lead.

Juventus pushed for a response Conceição fired at Haikin, Adzic missed a golden header, Locatelli stung the keeper’s gloves — but the equaliser never came before the break. At halftime, Bodo led 1–0, and Opta’s predictor had them favourites to take all three points. The Old Lady looked flat, fragmented, and short of conviction.

Introduced at the interval, the Turkish starlet changed everything. Barely three minutes into the second half, his sharp footwork produced a deflected shot that fell kindly for Lois Openda, who buried the rebound into the bottom corner to level the match. Moments later, Yildiz created what looked like a second Juventus goal, sliding the ball across for Miretti only for VAR to rule Openda offside in the buildup.

In the 59th minute, Yildiz danced past two defenders, fed Miretti on the left, and the young midfielder whipped a superb cross to Weston McKennie. The American rose highest and guided a perfect header into the bottom corner. 2–1 Juventus, and finally, fully deserved.

In the 84th minute, Cabal clipped Auklend in the box, and the referee pointed straight to the spot. Sondre Fet stepped up and slammed his penalty right down the middle to equalise. 2–2. The stadium roared. The upset was back on the cards.

Yet Juventus, at long last, found the kind of resilience they’ve been missing all season.

As the game edged into stoppage time, Locatelli sprayed a brilliant diagonal ball to Yildiz on the left. The substitute froze Bjørkan with a slick feint, fired a low shot that deflected off Moe, and forced Haikin into a superb save. But Jonathan David alive, alert, ruthless arrived fastest. Six yards out. One touch. One goal. 3–2. Juventus eruption.

It was far from perfect. It was often chaotic. But it was exactly the night Juventus needed.

The result lifts them to 21st in the Champions League league-phase standings, breathing life back into a campaign that had been drifting. Bodo drop to 31st, still searching for their first home win of the competition as they now prepare for Dortmund.

Juventus, meanwhile, welcome Pafos next finally with momentum, belief, and a match-winner’s grin on their faces.
