Champions League night saw Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and Juventus all deliver contrasting performances. Atletico powered past Union Saint-Gilloise 3-1 to revive their European hopes, Spurs dazzled in a 4-0 demolition of Copenhagen despite a red card to Brennan Johnson, while Juventus were held 1-1 by Sporting CP in a tense contest in Turin.

It was a night of drama, dominance, and defiance across Europe as Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and Juventus all took center stage in another enthralling round of Champions League fixtures.

At the Metropolitano, Atletico Madrid rediscovered their spark in Europe with a composed 3-1 win over Union Saint-Gilloise. After a quiet opening spell, Giuliano Simeone sparked life into the match with a clever run and assist for Julián Álvarez, who struck through Kjell Scherpen’s legs to break the deadlock. Antoine Griezmann had a goal ruled out for offside in stoppage time, but Atleti’s control grew as the game wore on.

Conor Gallagher doubled the lead midway through the second half, hammering home from a loose ball after Alexander Sørloth’s driving run. Union pulled one back through Ross Sykes’ towering header from Sofiane Boufal’s pinpoint cross, but their late momentum was short-lived. In stoppage time, Marcos Llorente sealed the win, smashing home the rebound after Scherpen parried a Thiago Almada effort. The result lifts Atletico back into contention.

In London, Tottenham Hotspur produced a statement performance with a resounding 4-0 win over Copenhagen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Brennan Johnson opened the scoring early with a composed finish before Wilson Odobert doubled the lead after the interval from Randal Kolo Muani’s assist.

The match briefly turned when VAR upgraded Johnson’s yellow card to a red for a dangerous tackle but rather than crumbling, Spurs exploded into life. Micky van de Ven stormed the length of the pitch to score a sensational solo goal, and João Palhinha added a fourth after a smart run from Cristian Romero. Richarlison struck the bar from the spot in stoppage time, but it mattered little as Spurs ended the night maintaining their unbeaten run in Europe.

Meanwhile, in Turin, Juventus were left frustrated after being held 1-1 by Sporting CP. The visitors started brightly, taking the lead through Maximiliano Araujo’s clinical strike after being teed up by Trincao. The Portuguese winger nearly doubled the lead minutes later, rattling the crossbar with a curling effort.

Juventus fought back and found the equaliser when Khephren Thuram’s burst down the left set up Dusan Vlahovic, who toe-poked home at the near post. The Bianconeri dominated thereafter but failed to find a winner, with Rui Silva denying both Vlahovic and David late on. The draw leaves Juventus still searching for their first European victory of the season.

Across all three matches, the themes were clear Atletico’s revival, Tottenham’s ruthless momentum, and Juventus’ ongoing inconsistency. With the league phase tightening, every point and goal could prove decisive in the road to the knockout rounds.
