Club Brugge and Barcelona played out a pulsating 3–3 draw in Belgium, with Carlos Forbs starring in a dramatic Champions League encounter that had everything goals, counters, controversy, and late VAR drama.

In one of the most entertaining matches of the Champions League season so far, Club Brugge and Barcelona shared the spoils in a breathtaking 3–3 draw at the Jan Breydel Stadium. Carlos Forbs was the standout performer, scoring twice and assisting once in a game that swung from end to end.

The hosts made a dream start, with Forbs sprinting past the Barcelona high line in the sixth minute to set up Nicolo Tresoldi for a cool opener. However, the Catalans hit back immediately Fermin López lofted a clever pass for Ferran Torres, who side-footed past Nordin Jackers to equalise.

Brugge struck again just ten minutes later with a blistering counterattack. Christos Tzolis released Forbs, who raced clear and curled home a composed finish to restore the Belgian side’s lead. The hosts’ pace on the break repeatedly troubled Barcelona’s backline, while Kounde rattled the crossbar at the other end.

After the interval, the drama intensified. Eric Garcia struck the bar before 17-year-old Lamine Yamal produced a moment of brilliance, weaving through defenders to make it 2–2 after a slick Fermin assist. Just a minute later, Forbs was at it again latching onto Hans Vanaken’s through ball to dink past Wojciech Szczesny and put Brugge 3–2 ahead.

There was no let-up. A VAR review denied Forbs a penalty before an unfortunate own goal from Tzolis who headed Yamal’s cross into his own net made it 3–3. Late in stoppage time, Brugge thought they had won it when Romeo Vermant dispossessed Szczesny to score, but VAR ruled the goal out for a foul on the keeper.

Forbs’ electric performance earned him plaudits, while Barcelona will be relieved to escape with a point.
