Gor Mahia delivered a statement performance at Kasarani Stadium, brushing aside bottom-placed Kariobangi Sharks 4-1 to return to the summit of the FKF Premier League table.

The record champions asserted their authority early and were rewarded in the 20th minute when Ben Stanley Omondi broke the deadlock with a composed finish. Gor continued to dictate proceedings and made their dominance count on the stroke of half time as Ghanaian midfielder Ebenezer Adukwaw Boadi doubled the advantage to send KOgalo into the break firmly in control.

Kariobangi Sharks showed brief signs of life after the restart and reduced the deficit in the 57th minute through Humphrey Aroko, giving the visitors a flicker of hope. That momentum was short lived as Gor Mahia responded with greater intensity and sharper execution.

Impactful substitutions proved decisive in the closing stages. Samuel Kapen, introduced from the bench, restored Gor Mahias two goal cushion in the 82nd minute with a well taken strike. Just two minutes later, fellow substitute Felix Oluoch finished off a swift move to put the result beyond doubt and cap a comprehensive 4-1 victory.

The win propels Gor Mahia to 26 points at the top of the table, sending a clear message to their title rivals. Crucially, KOgalo have played two matches fewer than second placed Kakamega Homeboyz, who sit on 24 points. AFC Leopards and Tusker are also on 24 points, further underlining the significance of Gors advantage.

For Kariobangi Sharks, the defeat deepens their struggles as they remain rooted at the bottom of the standings with 12 points, facing an uphill task to revive their season.

Gor Mahia will now shift focus to their next assignment away to Shabana FC at Gusii Stadium this Sunday, aiming to consolidate their grip on top spot and maintain momentum in the title race.
