Jackson Fires Chelsea Past Everton in Crucial Stamford Bridge Win

Nicolas Jackson’s first-half strike sealed a vital 1-0 win for Chelsea over Everton, boosting their Champions League hopes as the season heats up.

Chelsea Boost Champions League Bid with Narrow Win Over Everton

Chelsea secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Everton at Stamford Bridge, keeping their push for a Champions League spot on track. Nicolas Jackson scored the game's only goal in the first half, turning smartly on the edge of the box and drilling a low effort beyond Jordan Pickford.

While the result had little consequence for Everton — already safe from relegation — David Moyes will be disappointed by his team's lackluster performance, especially after a more spirited second-half showing. Dwight McNeil had the Toffees' best chance to equalize late on, but Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez produced a stunning diving save to maintain the lead.

Despite dominating large spells of the match, Chelsea created only 0.98 expected goals, showcasing their need for greater cutting edge. Even so, Maresca’s side looked comfortable for most of the evening, and deservedly took all three points.

The Blues now turn their attention to a pivotal clash against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge next week, while Everton will regroup before facing Ipswich Town.
