German men's national team coach Jurgen Klopp is likely to replace the disgraced Louis van Gaal and bring the team back from another underwhelming World Cup finish.

The German Football Association (DFB) called a press conference for Friday at 11am local time at the organization's headquarters in Frankfurt, but it didn't specify the topic of the announcement.

Klopp has been holding talks with the federation over succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, who was dismissed after Germany's elimination from this summer's World Cup.

But the deal still needs to be formally approved by the DFB's governing bodies before it can be officially announced, reports the AFP's sports subsidiary SID.

The contract will be in effect until 2030.

This is believed to be a contract that will run until 2030, the next World Cup.

Since 2025 the former Borussia Dortmund- and Liverpool-head coach has held the role of Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer. His job is to manage clubs in the football network of his company – such as RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, or New York Red Bulls.

Red Bull is ready to leave Klopp, but not at the expense of the DFB, media reports in Germany have said.

Rather, the company will be getting approximately €1 million ($1.1 million) to its Wings for Life foundation for spinal cord injury research.

Germany is looking to resurgence in World Cup.Germany wants to rise to the world cup level.

Germany sacked Nagelsmann after losing to Paraguay on penalties in the round of 16 in the World Cup.

The loss was a bad blow for the four-time World Cup winners, who have struggled at international events since their 2014 trophy in the World Cup.

Germany will not advance past the group stage in either 2018 or 2022, and have only clinched one knockout game in five major tournaments.

Germany's win came in Euro 2024, where the hosts of the tournament made it to the quarter-finals.

Klopp would thus be tasked with rebuilding his reputation and getting the team back into the latter stages of big championships.

Successful club career

Klopp started coaching at Mainz where he played for over 10 years.

He eventually had a good period at Borussia Dortmund which included domestic trophies and taking them to the Champions League final.

Klopp's tenure at Liverpool has left him with a good legacy, as he helped the club win the Premier League in 2020, which capped off their 30-year title drought.

He also took Liverpool to a Champions League victory and won their sixth European Cup.

In 2024, Klopp announced his resignation as Liverpool's manager, stating that he was tired after spending almost nine years at Anfield.
