The Premier League champions confirmed the signing deal on Thursday, but have not revealed the fee. British news outlets have guessed that the amount is £34 million ($45 million).

Tzolis is Arsenal's third permanent transfer window sign for the season after Leonardo is transferred to Besiktas and will be a target to replace in attack as Tossar will depart.

His arrival follows Arsenal missing out on England midfielder Morgan Rogers by the skin of his teeth 48 hours ago.

The £117 million ($157 million) he was reportedly sold to Chelsea for is the highest price ever paid for a British player. Later, the midfielder dubbed Chelsea the “biggest club in London”.

In Belgium, he has established a very impressive record.

Tzolis is joining Arsenal from Club Brugge where he netted 43 goals in 108 appearances.

The 24-year-old also looked in action last season as Belgium's Gunners were beaten 3-0 in the Champions League.

He has joined Brugge on a permanent basis in 2024 and contributed to its Belgian league title triumph last season.

Tzolis first professional club was PAOK Thessaloniki where he aiding the Greek team's success in the Greek Cup in May 2021 before joining Norwich City.

He joined Norwich on a loan but he got his first taste of Premier League football when he joined FC Twente in the Netherlands and Fortuna Duesseldorf in Germany on loan.

Berta supports Tzolis for the post.

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta said the Greece international was a "basketball player" and could fill several different roles.

Berta said on the official website that “Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player”, which is most likely an understatement.

He has great technical ability, is an outstanding finisher from either foot, and is very good in tight spaces.”

Christos has been excellent in terms of goals and assists in the past three seasons.”

Arsenal think Tzolis could be a player they will enjoy watching, Berta added, "and he can make an important contribution to the side".

The winger has now made 34 appearances for Greece and is set to make a significant impact in the Arsenal attack for the upcoming season.
