PSG Sweep Aside Le Havre to Reclaim Ligue 1 Top Spot
Paris Saint-Germain stormed back to the summit of Ligue 1 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Le Havre at the Parc des Princes, powered by goals from Lee Kang-In, João Neves, and Bradley Barcola.
Paris Saint-Germain returned to the top of Ligue 1 with an emphatic 3-0 win over Le Havre at the Parc des Princes, delivering one of their most complete performances of the season. Luis Enrique’s side dominated in both intensity and quality, while producing waves of relentless pressure, especially after the break.
The champions set the tone early with fluid movement and high-energy attacks. Gonçalo Ramos, Nuno Mendes, Ibrahim Mbaye and Lee Kang-In all went close in an action-packed opening spell. The breakthrough finally arrived in the 29th minute. Mendes carved open the defence with a perfectly weighted cross from the left, finding Lee Kang-In free at the back post. The South Korean steadied himself before firing a composed half-volley past Diaw to put PSG 1-0 up.
Le Havre, despite the early setback, were far from passive. They registered 0.91 xG in the first half and forced several top-drawer saves from Chevalier. Soumare and Kechta both came agonisingly close, while Ndiaye and Seko continually threatened on the counter.
With only a slender lead at the break, PSG emerged for the second half determined to kill the contest—and they did just that.
The hosts unleashed a barrage of chances between the 46th and 70th minute. Mayulu, Mbaye, Ramos, and Mendes all tested Diaw, while Neves sent warning after warning from midfield. In the 65th minute, PSG doubled their lead. After Barcola saw back-to-back efforts saved and blocked, João Neves arrived at the perfect moment to poke home the loose ball and make it 2-0.
Le Havre nearly pulled one back when Soumare smashed a low effort off the post, but that was as close as they came to changing the tide.
PSG sealed the win in style in the 87th minute. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who had injected flair and control after coming off the bench, dropped deep to collect the ball and then sliced open the defence with a perfectly weighted through-ball. Bradley Barcola raced onto it, kept his composure, and slotted beyond Diaw to secure a deserved 3-0 victory.
The champions continued to press for a fourth, with Kvaratskhelia denied by a flying save in stoppage time, but three goals and a clean sheet were more than enough. The win sees PSG climb back to the top of Ligue 1, two points clear of Marseille and Lens.
For PSG, however, this was a statement performance. Ruthless, energetic, and technically sharp, it was the display of a side determined to defend their crown.
