Harambee Starlets resume training tomorrow(Thursday) after government intervenes; releasing Kshs. 3.9m to help in their preparations against ambia.

Starlets were scheduled to hit camp at the start of the week but this was delayed with FKF president Nick Mwendwa during a press briefing held on Tuesday confirming that the federation had halted the team’s assembly due to the Ministry’s failure to wire funds from the National Sports Fund kitty.

The monies released are part of a Kshs 17m budget that FKF had requested from government to help prepare the men’s team, Harambee Stars, for their two-legged CHAN 2020 qualifier against Tanzania held in August and which Kenya lost on post-match penalties.

Starlets will now report to camp on Thursday ahead of the first-leg tie against the COSAFA region powerhouses set for November 8 in Nairobi with the return leg coming three days later on the 11th in Lusaka.

Starlets eased past Malawi and Ghana after receiving a bye in the first round to reach this stage, where progression will set up a final round tie against either Cameroon or Ivory Coast to reach a first ever Olympics tournament.
