The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced a new authorization protocol that mandates all individuals and organizations intending to conduct football activities including tournaments, player trials, and football academies to obtain prior approval from the FKF National Office.
This directive, effective immediately, is in response to increasing concerns over unregulated events that potentially expose participants to risks such as exploitation and lack of proper safeguarding measures. The FKF emphasizes that all event organizers must submit a formal request at least 14 days in advance, detailing the nature and scope of the event, venue, team lists, and safeguarding protocols.
For local tournaments, authorization must also be sought from respective FKF branch representatives, with copies submitted to branch offices for coordination purposes.
The federation made it clear that only the FKF National Office has the authority to approve or deny such events. Any football activity not sanctioned by FKF will be deemed unaffiliated, and those involved risk disciplinary action, including possible suspension or deregistration.
This initiative underlines FKF’s commitment to ensuring that all football engagements in Kenya are conducted within regulated and secure frameworks in alignment with FIFA and CAF standards.
