the caretaker committee led, by retired Justice Aaron Ringera, suspended the league action which had reached matchday six, promising to resume the same after consulting with all the 18 clubs.
According to Nairobi News, premier league clubs have, in recent meetings with the Aaron Ringera-led caretaker committee, each asked for Sh2 million as a condition of resuming matches.
The clubs received Sh800,000 each month last season as grants from FKF when the league had BetKing and StarTimes as sponsors. Clubs also received Sh400,000 a month this season courtesy of StarTimes.
Second-tier National Super League (NSL) clubs have asked the caretaker committee for Sh1.5 million.
This happens as Nick Mwendwa has formally left his role as Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president.
The troubled Mwendwa, in a letter addressed to FKF's National Executive Committee dated November 29, explained he had arrived at the decision to transfer the functions of FKF president to his deputy Doris Petra.
The letter shows he quit on Monday, on the day he was presented in court for to answer to theft charges.
