Bruno Guimaraes scored a dramatic late winner as Newcastle United beat Fulham 2–1 at St James’ Park. The Magpies showed resilience after conceding an equaliser, climbing up the table with a much-needed home victory.

Newcastle United earned a crucial three points in dramatic fashion after Bruno Guimaraes scored an 86th-minute winner to seal a 2–1 victory over Fulham at St James’ Park on Saturday.

The match was a rollercoaster, with Jacob Murphy opening the scoring early in the first half after capitalising on Calvin Bassey’s defensive lapse. Murphy raced through on goal and finished coolly past Bernd Leno to give the hosts a 1–0 lead.

Fulham hit back after the break when Raul Jimenez’s header struck the bar before Sasa Lukic nodded in the rebound to make it 1–1. The visitors looked to have done enough for a point until a fast Newcastle counter turned the game on its head.

Substitute William Osula drove down the right wing and forced a save from Leno, who could only parry the ball into Guimaraes’ path. The Brazilian made no mistake, slotting home into the bottom-right corner to spark wild celebrations among the home fans.

Despite Fulham’s brave display, Newcastle’s persistence paid off. The win lifts Eddie Howe’s side further away from the bottom half as they rediscover their rhythm after recent setbacks.
