Former Harambee Stars team manager Willis Waliaula has thrown his support behind Nairobi United, predicting the team will advance to the next stages of the CAF Confederation Cup following their 2-0 first-leg triumph over Tunisia’s Etoile Sportif du Sahel.

Speaking to Digital, Waliaula attributed the club’s strong run to unity and the seamless collaboration between the players and the technical bench. The former Tusker FC team manager particularly commended the partnership between head coach Nickolas Muyoti and his assistant Salim Ali, describing their coordination as a key factor behind United’s recent success.

“They know how to bring players together, and their combined experience has been instrumental in producing the positive results we’ve seen so far,” Waliaula said. “That level of understanding will carry the team far this season.”

However, Waliaula urged the Kenyan representatives to remain cautious ahead of the second leg, warning that Etoile Sportif du Sahel’s experience and home advantage could pose a serious challenge.

“Despite the win, they must approach the return match with focus and respect for their opponents — but without fear,” he advised. “Etoile are a strong side, especially at home, so tactical discipline will be vital if United are to secure qualification to the next round.”
