Tottenham Hotspurs and England captain Harry Kane has taken to social media to announce his continuity at the London Based club and put to rest all speculation of his transfer.
The Kane to Manchester City saga has been one of, if not the most followed transfer story of the window.
Over the past month, Pep Guardiola and City have publicly stated their interest in the striker. The player too was said to be interested in forcing a move through, however, the situation seems to have changed.
The England captain tweeted from his official handle saying, “It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks.
I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success.”
This comes as great news not just to fans of the Premier League club but also to world football. Manchester City broke the British transfer record earlier this window by signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for a whopping £100 million.
The Blues of Manchester were reportedly ready to shell out a fee in excess of a hundred million again to sign Kane, however, that is a move that will not happen now.
With the Tottenham captain off the table, Pep Guardiola’s side will have to look for alternatives. A story that has taken over headlines in recent hours is Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire to sign for the Premier League side. There seemed to be hesitation from the Premier League champions side, however, things could move fast in that regard now.
