This is according to reports,

Well, the 29-year-old is surplus to requirements at Barcelona, and Xavi has made it clear that Coutinho isn’t part of his project.

As a result, Arsenal – and also Everton – are exploring ways to bring him back to the Premier League, with Newcastle also interested.

However, SPORT believe Coutinho has no interest in joining the Magpies.

Interestingly, the 63-cap Brazil international is represented by Kia Joorabchian, an agent who Arsenal have close ties with.

Joorabchian helped bring the likes of Willian, Cedric Soares and David Luiz to the Emirates Stadium.

The 50-year-old also represents Hale End gem Omari Hutchinson.

So far this season, Coutinho has scored just two goals in 16 appearances.

Mikel Arteta has been stung by Joorabchian too many times, and there are plenty of reasons for him to ignore another of his clients.

Despite Coutinho’s situation at the Camp Nou, SPORT believe the 29-year-old will still cost a fairly high price.Photo by Alexande
