Bayer Leverkusen produced one of the most electrifying performances of the Bundesliga season, coming from behind to thrash Wolfsburg 6-3 in a nine-goal spectacle at the BayArena.

The visitors made a flying start, taking the lead through Jonas Wind in the 16th minute before extending their advantage with a strike from Joakim Mæhle. Wolfsburg looked firmly in control when Christian Eriksen converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-1.

However, Leverkusen began their fightback before halftime. Alejandro Grimaldo scored twice, including a penalty, to pull the hosts back into the contest and reduce the deficit to 3-2 heading into the break.

The second half belonged entirely to Leverkusen as they overwhelmed Wolfsburg with relentless attacking pressure. Patrik Schick equalised from the penalty spot early in the half, completing the comeback and shifting momentum firmly in favour of the hosts.

With Wolfsburg reeling, Leverkusen pushed forward and took control of the match. Edmond Tapsoba fired them into the lead in the 68th minute before Ibrahim Maza added a fifth shortly after to cap off a devastating spell.

The scoring was completed deep into stoppage time when Malik Tillman struck to seal a remarkable 6-3 victory and underline Leverkusen’s attacking depth and resilience.

The game saw multiple penalties, defensive lapses, and constant end-to-end action, highlighting both teams’ attacking intent but also exposing vulnerabilities at the back.

For Leverkusen, the result reinforces their title ambitions and showcases their ability to respond under pressure, while Wolfsburg are left to reflect on a collapse after holding a two-goal advantage.
